OUR CORE VALUES
The leadership of Christ's Church at Butler has identified the following values that describe the kind of church we strive to be.
A God-honoring Church
Revelation 4:11; John 4:23-24; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Matthew 7:7

We will seek to honor God with Spirit-filled worship and regular, weekly observance of the Lord's Supper.  We will emphasize the Bible as the innerant, Holy Spirit- breathed guide for the church and every believer.  We will also place primary emphasis on prayer to seek the will and guidance of God in every decision, policy, and undertaking.

A People-loving Church
John 3:16; Matthew 22:37-40; Ephesians 4:32; 1 John 3:17

Because God is passionate about mankind, we will seek to love every person and bring them the blessings of God.  We will emphasize loving, forgiving, serving, and sacrificing for others.  As God gives us the means, we will seek to share the burdens as well as the blessings of those in the church family.

A Missions-oriented Church
Matthew 25:37-40; Matthew 28:19-20

We will seek to look outward to participate in Christ's Great Commission locally, regionally, nationally, and throughout the world.  We will also strive to bring the blessings of Christ to the needy in our community.

A Disciple-making Church
Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 4:11

We will strive to emulate the model of Jesus by helping believers to mature from spiritual infancy to Christlikeness.  We will encourage each person's involvement in a small group for intimate nurturing in the faith to stimulate them to develop their spiritual gifts, their stewardship, and their participation in evangelism.

A Family-centered Church
Deuteronomy 6:4-7; Mark 3:31-35; Ephesians 5:21; Ephesians 6:4; 1 John 4:21

We will strive to find ways to strengthen marriages and families, to encourage perserverance in holding families together, and to extend a hand of healing to those who fail.  We will also strive to be a spiritual family with the common blood of Jesus Christ.  Fellowship will be encouraged to stimulate those spiritual family bonds.

A Unity-seeking Church
John 17:20-23; Romans 15:5-6; Ephesians 4:3-6

We will strive to emphasize the unity of the Spirit that exists when believers strive to die to themselves, become servants to one another, and submit to Christ's lordship and the church leadership.  We will also seek to foster goodwill and fellowship with other bodies of believers, rejoice with them in their blessings, and encourage them in their trials.

A Quality-conscious Church
Proverbs 3:9; Malachi 1:6-8

We will strive to give God our best effort and to present a testimony that honors God in everything that is presented to the church and the community.  We will respect traditions, but will give preference to that which effectively accomplishes the purpose to which God has called us.
